Our Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing ESS’s financial records and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This person oversees all company finances including accounts payable and receivable and works directly with firm on quarterly corporate and state tax preparation and filings. This is a high-level, hands-on role. Expert knowledge of QuickBooks required to perform costing and provide profitability reporting and recommendations. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a service-based industry. Excellent customer service skills, a focus on professionalism, attention to detail and communication are key to this role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Financial Reporting: Preparing accurate and timely financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Account Reconciliation: Performing detailed account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Journal Entries: Preparing and posting complex journal entries.
- Month-End Close: Leading the month-end closing process, including preparing adjusting entries and reviewing financial data.
- Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial trends and performance metrics to provide insights to management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
- Internal Controls: Assessing and maintaining internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
- Audit Support: Preparing documentation and assisting external auditors with audit procedures.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Day-to-day tasks:
- Manage all financial accounts and required filings.
- Monthly filings of sales and use taxes with WI DOR.
- Administer remote checking deposits, reconciliations, transfers, credit card transactions, check generation.
- Manage all corporate credit card accounts.
- Mentor/assist other employees with QuickBooks procedures.
- File construction liens, small claims actions for delinquent accounts.
- Refine, champion, educate and implement ESS financial procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license a plus
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- 5 years experience in accounting roles
- Ability to work independently and be a self-motivator
- Good written and verbal communication skills

Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
