What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solution Analyst position at Engineering Industries eXcellence?
As a Solution Analyst, you are part of the professional solution team where you provide support and technical expertise for projects throughout the project lifecycle (including implementation /installation, configuration, testing, training delivery, deployment, production support). Provide regular status reports for updating the customer to support the management of customer technical and process expectations. Works on projects/assignments of moderate scope. Works under general supervision on routine assignment/projects and direct supervision on new assignment/projects.
This is a full-time, permanent position, sitting onsite in our Chicago office 2-3x per week, with the opportunity to go fully remote after 6 months of employment/onboarding.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain effective relationships with internal customers and technical peers to support effective delivery
- Provide information and feedback to internal customers in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner, as required by defined project activities, ensuring that key messages are communicated effectively
- Understand the context of the project, its key deliverables and engagement model.
- Understand each assigned project task and its relationship to delivery of the work stream
- Provide accurate and timely information to technical team lead or project management team as required
- As required, contribute to the generation of the relevant level of project documentation in line with Project Management Methodology
- As directed, contribute to quality and phase gate reviews
- As directed, contribute to the review of technical implementation experiences with project delivery team, capturing and sharing lessons learned as part of the project review and close activities
- Contribute to social commentary and share experiences to support organizations knowledge sharing initiatives
- Develop/maintain an understanding of latest technical and industry trends.
- Keep up to date with Best Practices and methods within own area of specialism, and apply these in everyday role
Preferred Knowledge/Skillset
- Successfully completed required training on business, compliance & ethical guidelines/standards and has applied these in own role
- Can explain the importance and value of business standards, compliance & ethics, and can explain how it supports customer and business success.
- Can explain the main components of Technical Consulting, how they relate to each other and why they are important to the company’s success
- Understands basic technical consulting standards and processes, and applies these in own role
- Understands key components of a single product set, how they relate to each other, their main features, functions and business benefits.
- Able to undertake standard user tasks in the software
- Understand the industry processes and manufacturing concepts related to the product
Qualifications/Experience
- Ideally 0-1 years of experience in engineering and/or manufacturing processes for design and development of products.
- Ability to effectively communicate progress, status, and issues to internal and external customers.
- Ability to obtain and meet Business goals and results.
- Ability to work independently, as well as on a team.
- Proficient with MS Office applications, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial and Operations Engineering or a similar field of study.
