Engineering & Inspection Services, LLC (EIS) is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join our dynamic team in our Metairie, LA office. The Contract Administrator will ensure that contracts are structured, managed, and executed to maximize the organization’s financial performance. This role involves a strategic approach to contract management, with an emphasis on evaluating and adjusting billing rates, aligning pricing strategies with market conditions, and ensuring that contractual terms support profitability targets. The Contract Administrator collaborates closely with finance, operations, and legal teams to analyze costs, monitor revenue streams, and proactively address factors affecting profitability, such as inflation, overhead increases, and operational inefficiencies.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Profitability Optimization: Ensure contracts meet or exceed profit margin expectations by analyzing financial performance and making adjustments to rates, terms, or execution strategies.
  • Billing Rate Management: Monitor and adjust client billing rates to reflect market conditions, inflation, and cost increases, while maintaining competitive pricing.
  • Strategic Pricing: Develop pricing models that align with organizational profitability goals and provide value to clients.
  • Financial Analysis: Evaluate costs, margins, and financial performance for each contract, identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Contract Negotiation and Amendments: Negotiate and implement terms that protect the organization’s financial interests, including escalation clauses and cost-sharing agreements.


Responsibilities:

  • Contract Review and Profit Analysis: Analyze contract terms, deliverables, and financial performance to ensure alignment with profitability goals.
  • Billing Rate Adjustments: Regularly review and adjust billing rates to account for inflation, cost increases, and market changes.
  • Market Benchmarking: Conduct research to compare rates with industry standards and ensure competitive pricing strategies.
  • Compliance and Cost Control: Ensure all contract terms, including financial provisions, comply with company policies and regulations.
  • Collaboration with Finance and Operations: Partner with finance and operational teams to analyze costs, manage budgets, and optimize contract execution.
  • Reporting and Insights: Generate profitability reports and provide insights to senior management on trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Client Communication: Engage with clients to explain rate adjustments or renegotiate terms, ensuring transparency and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Inflation and Risk Mitigation: Monitor economic trends and incorporate inflation-adjustment clauses or other mechanisms to mitigate financial risks.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field. 

Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in contract administration, procurement, or legal operations.
  • Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts. 

Certification:

  • Certification in Contract Management (e.g., Certified Professional Contracts Manager, CPCM) is a plus.


Skills:

  • Strong Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of profit margins, cost analysis, and financial performance metrics.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align contract strategies with organizational goals for long-term profitability.
  • Analytical Skills: Expertise in evaluating contract performance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Negotiation Expertise: Skilled in negotiating favorable contract terms that balance profitability and client value.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Works effectively with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations.


Working Conditions: 

  • Primarily office-based, with occasional and as needed out-of-state travel for client meetings or site visits.
  • May require extended hours during peak contract cycles or negotiations.
