Job Summary:
The Lactation Consultant is responsible for assisting the Patient Care Director in the overall operation of the Lactation Program. The IBCLC will assist mothers and babies with complex breastfeeding situations.
Department: Mother/Baby
Location: Englewood, NJ
Status: Per diem
Shift: 8 hours
Hours: 7a-3p, 3p-11p
Job Essentials:
- 2 years clinical experience with breastfeeding preferred.
- Ability to participate in hospital/nursing committees.
- Utilizes standards and evidence based practice guidelines in clinical and educational decision making.
- Displays cultural sensitivity related to the breastfeeding experience.
- Capable of working collaboratively with peers, physicians, managers and patients. Excellent communication skills, verbal, and written.
Education Requirements:
BSN Preferred.License/Certification/Registry:
- Valid RN Licensure. IBCLC Certification required.
