Position Summary

A Sales (Business) Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for generating and qualifying new business opportunities to support revenue growth. They focus on outbound prospecting, engaging prospects through phone calls, emails, community events, and social media to identify organizations that fit our ideal customer profile (target market). SDRs nurture relationships, set up meetings for the outside sales team, and ensure a smooth handoff of qualified leads. They play a critical role in filling the sales pipeline by leveraging market research, outreach strategies, and a deep understanding of our services to connect with decision-makers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business prospects.
  • Manage and qualify marketing leads to drive meetings and business opportunities.
  • Utilize CRM to manage prospect data and track the sales process.
  • Build relationships, generate interest, and set appointments in target accounts.
  • Achieve defined metrics and KPIs.
  • Progress through the Sales Development program through mastery of behaviors, activities and outcomes

Required Skills And Abilities

  • Strong organizational and presentation skills and in planning and preparing written communications.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
  • Must be well-spoken, outgoing, organized, detail-orientated, dependable, and flexible.
  • Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to read, memorize and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively in English.
  • Ability to perform basic math computations.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Education And Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of B2B inside sales, lead generation or appointment setting experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with developing own leads and prospecting for brand new business.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) preferred.
