Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. The Trainee Millwright is an opportunity for an individual to obtain the training and experience necessary to become a qualified Millwright. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Being assigned to a location within the Company to undergo orientation and training for a period that is normally 9-24 months in preparation for a future Millwright position.
- Participating in various training courses including training to address safety procedures, regulatory requirements, handling of hazardous and highly volatile materials, and various other systems that are related to the natural gas plant and pipeline industry.
- Receiving on-the-job training; working alongside various plant and/or pipeline personnel.
- Training in the proficiency of installation, maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting of rotating equipment including: Natural Gas Turbines; Centrifugals, Reciprocating and Axial Flow Compressors; Vertical and Horizontal Pumps; Blowers, Fans and Expanders, Electric Motors and Generators, vibration analysis, machine shop operations, precision machinery alignment techniques.
- Working with operations and maintenance on repairs to equipment that include: replacement of mechanical seals, installation and alignment of rotating equipment, repairs to fans and blowers, repairs to reciprocating, centrifugal and screw compressors and pumps, basic knowledge of rigging and flagging.
- Willingness to relocate within the operating region (Mont Belvieu, Baytown, La Porte, and east Houston area) to fill an Millwright position, when an opening occurs, after the successful completion of adequate training.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a vocational Millwright certificate and/or successful completion of a Millwright educational program and/or 2 years Mechanical maintenance experience.
- Must have strong mathematical skills and experience in basic computer use including the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software
- A general knowledge of pumps, turbines, compressors, fans, gearboxes and replacement of mechanical seals, aligning equipment and troubleshooting problems in various rotating equipment is preferred.
- Previous experience with, and general knowledge of, preventive and corrective maintenance of various types of equipment is preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be a great team player who interacts effectively with co-workers, customers and the public, whether in a group or in independent cooperative activities.
- Must be accountable and self-driven to learn, and to continuously develop and improve personal skills through both formalized and on-the-job training.
- Must be willing and able to perform essential functions of this position in an outdoor environment under variables such as in-climate weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, wind, and precipitation), variable heights, and unstable terrain.
- Must be able to demonstrate, through previous job experience, training, and activities, the ability to understand the operation of and repair of various mechanical and technical equipment or systems.
- Must be able to quickly learn and become proficient with new skills, technologies, procedures and processes.
- Must follow procedures and perform job functions in a safe and efficient manner which is the core to this and all positions at Enterprise.
