Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will have a solid background in accounting principles and practices, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. This role will not include management responsibilities but will involve working closely with the direct supervisor to analyze and manage financial data. The accountant will also provide recommendations to the board of directors based on financial findings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely month-end close procedures.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Work with the direct supervisor to provide financial insights and recommendations for improving business performance.
- Present financial findings and recommendations to the board when requested, providing clear and actionable insights.
- Assist in the development of accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Respond to any internal or external inquiries regarding financial information.
- Manage payroll processing in collaboration with external payroll vendors to ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Coordinate with payroll vendors to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payroll and tax filings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or related role.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online, along with other accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SAP).
- Experience working with payroll vendors for payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or other professional accounting certification is a plus, but not required.
- Experience working with boards or upper management to present financial data and recommendations.
