Our New York office is seeking a Technical Director.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead technical / creative design efforts through all stages of projects;
Meet with clients to assess project needs and, in coordination with the project team, facilitate and present design and / or technical design solution alternatives;
Support design teams with technical design details / design brief;
Act as client liaison for strategic discussions, providing necessary support throughout all stages of projects;
Ensure quality control of submissions;
Support development of project needs including staffing, resources, budgeting, timing, and project expectations;
Assist project managers / directors with invoices, staff resourcing, budget alignment, and project projections / forecasting;
Meet and communicate with clients and suppliers to develop and maintain effective working partnerships;
In coordination with peer Technical Director leadership, research, inform, and guide technical design advancements within the firm;
Keep abreast of new materials and methods and share findings with the design teams;
Develop and support staff mentoring programs and opportunities;
Support business development efforts including participation in proposal responses, speaking engagements, industry / educational events.

Technical Skills / Professional Skills and Knowledge :

Advanced drafting skills with an ability to identify potential constructability and sustainability issues and develop solutions to mitigate without sacrificing design intent;

Ability to supervise and coach effective use of software and tools.

Qualifications :

Minimum of 6 years relevant professional experience in experiential graphic design, architecture, or industrial design firm setting;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Meticulous attention to detail;

Excellent organizational skills;

Strong sense of ownership, reliable, with a can-do attitude;

Macintosh computer literacy and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator);

Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and rendering programs.

Benefits :

We currently have a hybrid remote-working scenario in effect, 3 days in the office and 2 days flex / work-from-home, but this is subject to change. Role and compensation will be commensurate with experience. Additionally, we offer a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision.
