Salary:
The internship provides a stipend of $640 per week, along with housing arrangements. This compensation package ensures that interns can focus on their work and gain valuable experience without financial burdens. Additionally, interns will receive 480 hours towards Public Land Corps (PLC) Hiring Authority, which can be beneficial for future career opportunities.

Job Description:
This internship is designed to support community outreach programs focused on fishing and birding activities. As an intern, your responsibilities will include developing educational materials to promote fish and bird-related information, conducting outreach and educational activities to engage local communities, understanding regulations regarding fishing and ethical birding, and establishing or building upon fishing and birding programs at National Park Service sites. You will also manage and maintain program equipment and meet deadlines for Environment for the Americas program requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, you should possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral. You must be able to hike and conduct field operations independently or as part of a team in an outdoor setting. Previous experience giving presentations and learning new skills to transfer knowledge to participants is highly desirable. Additionally, you should have an interest in learning fishing regulations and bird identification for program development and implementation. A background or coursework in biology, fisheries and wildlife sciences, ecology, aquaculture, communications/marketing, environmental science, recreation, interpretation/education, or a strong interest in the outdoors with experience fishing and/or birdwatching is also necessary.

However, the weather is often sunny and clear, with temperatures ranging from 40°F to 100°F during the internship period. Full outdoor workdays are common in favorable weather, and interns should be prepared to work in high sun and heat exposure and navigate uneven terrain.
