Position Overview :
The Field Safety Professional is responsible for overseeing safety operations during steel erection projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, minimizing risks, and fostering a safe work environment for all team members. This project will be short term (4-6 weeks) as the project is at the near end of completion.
Responsibilities :
- Monitor all steel erection activities to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and project-specific safety plans.Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on-site.
- Identify potential safety hazards related to steel erection processes, including working at heights, lifting operations, and material handling.
- Develop and implement measures to mitigate risks.
- Communicate safety expectations clearly to all personnel and subcontractors.
- Respond promptly to safety incidents or near-misses, providing first aid if necessary.
- Document and report all incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use, inspection, and maintenance of safety equipment such as harnesses, lanyards, and fall arrest systems.
- Work closely with project managers, foremen, and other stakeholders to align safety practices with project goals.
- Maintain accurate safety records, including permits, inspection logs, and training documentation.
