Quality Assurance Technician / Inspector - Onsite in Venice, FL

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour plus benefits

Monday – Friday / 7:30am to 4:00pm

Enzymedica, a worldwide leader in the enzyme supplement industry, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician - Inspector to perform various quality functions throughout the manufacturing process to ensure company compliance with cGMP regulations to produce high quality products. This position is onsite in Venice, FL so local candidates or those ready to move to beautiful Venice, FL, should apply.

REQUIRED / DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be comfortable wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, hair net, face mask, foot covers, lab coat, gloves protective footwear, compression- and impact-resistant shoes to have built-in toe caps.
  • Candidates with experience working in a GMP regulated facility and working in quality functions within a manufacturing environment will receive first consideration.
  • Experience working with FDA regulations (CFR 21 Parts 111 and 117) as well as SQF.
  • Experience inspecting incoming components, finished products, returns, for approval or rejection.
  • Experience assigning unique lot identifiers.
  • Ability to successfully complete GMP training.
  • Experience performing label reconciliation and label control.
  • Experience identifying deviations and taking steps for corrective and preventative actions.
  • Experience following, writing, and revising company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail.
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to make decisions regarding quality standards.
  • Possess advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Demonstrated ability to be an individual contributor or work in team-based environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties as required):

  • Compliance with FDA’s cGMP regulations for Dietary Supplements as defined in 21 CFR 111.
  • Write and revise company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Keep up to date on cGMP requirements for dietary supplements.
  • Investigate customer complaints.
  • Conduct production start-up and in-process quality inspections.
  • Process production batch records.
  • Maintain and organize Quality and GMP related documents.
  • Monitor and maintain records of facility programs for climate control and pest control.
  • Produce records utilizing GDP (good documentation practices).
  • Proactively establish and maintain highly organized filing system.
  • Communicate with vendors.
  • Participate in third party audits.
  • Participate in mock recalls.
  • Adhere to all Enzymedica, Inc. policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement and safety initiatives, including job related and annual training(s), i.e., cGMP, SQF.

Supports Good Manufacturing Principles (cGMP) and Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI) certification by the following (but not limited too):

  • Adherence to cGMP and Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices, standard operating methods, and legal regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Document all production efforts in appropriate logs, forms, reports, and databases.
  • Ensure the required quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained with respect to cGMP and SQF operating procedures, all documentation, area housekeeping, production suites, and compliance with the relevant regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Working and partnering with other groups for requirements relating to quality systems, safety, equipment maintenance, and warehousing for cGMP and SQF initiatives.
  • Maintains appropriate employee hygiene and cleanliness.

Demonstrated ability to do excessive walking, standing, bending, and stooping. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or control, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, kneel and crouch including occasionally climbing ladders. Able to lift and reach above your head on a daily basis. Able to bend, twist, squat and kneel on a daily basis. Able to stand for more than three hours at a time without a break. Ability to use a computer. The employee may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (75-100 pounds) on a daily basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to read and decipher labels and lot numbers.
