Industrial Engineer

EPCO, a leading manufacturer of products for the fluid power and marine industries, is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

OPPORTUNITY:

As our Process Improvement Industrial Engineer, you will be a significant player on our team as you enhance our operational excellence that advances our company’s growth. Create and maintain Bills of Material and other documentation that support our operations. To support our Pull Method of manufacturing, you will conduct time studies and monitor production to determine Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), plant layout and process flows.

With an eye on automation, monitor the efficiency, condition and preventative maintenance of automated equipment. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will play an instrumental part in the continued success of our company that prides itself on quality.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Accurately create, manage and maintain BOM, material identification and numerical control.

• Review production efficiency and capacity and oversee OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) on all EPCO machines and automation.

• Conduct time studies and recommend continual process improvement measures to enhance effectiveness and reduce costs.

• Maintain equipment files and oversee all automation equipment (maintenance, repair, upgrades, new.)

• Create routers for repetitive operations, utilize CAD, and maintain equipment files and maintenance scheduling.

• Maintain cost data updates and issue quotes.

• Manage and maintain print files, drawings, and documentation.

• Oversee quality, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and IMDS.

• Support and enhance EPCO's established Pull Method of Manufacturing.

• Plans utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations.

SUCCESS FACTORS:

• 3 years of Industrial / manufacturing engineering experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.

• CAD experience and automation program editing.

• Material Requirements Planning (MRP) understanding.

• Automation experience is helpful.

• Solid project management skills with effective cross-functional influence.

• Detailed oriented with ability to document effectively.

• Self-starter and able to perform tasks independently with a sense of urgency.

• Lean and Six Sigma experience would be a plus.

• Embraces the parameters of EPCO's Quality Management System.

• Microsoft Excel proficiency for documentation use.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

EPCO will reward your engineering talents with a base salary of $85k - $95K , depending on experience. You will also benefit from our company’s outstanding benefit program. You and your family will be eligible to participate in EPCO's excellent health insurance program. EPCO provides up to a 4% match with its 100% vested 401(k)program. Vacation, holiday pay and tuition reimbursement are also provided. Participate in EPCO’s Gainsharing Bonus plan that affords opportunities to earn unlimited percentage gainsharing bonus every four weeks.
