Primary Functions
- To oversee daily operations of the OST Program at West Philadelphia Achievement Charter Elementary School (WPACES)
- Ensure best practice standards are incorporated into STEAM curriculum for youth
- To provide leadership and assistance to program staff, community organizing activities and events.
- Facilitates partnerships with appropriate public and private agencies that provide services to students and families.
- Establishes and maintains communication with school personnel and parents about students’ learning and social emotional learning needs.
- To promote the OST & Youth Programs and activities to School Community.
- Associates Degree with four years of experience, CDA preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with relevant experience
- Experience teaching groups of youth in a classroom and classroom management skills.
- Proven ability to design and facilitate curriculum.
- Ability to coordinate, manage and maintain confidential participant files in an order in accordance with program requirements
- Knowledge of Child Educational Development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal/human relations skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Knowledge and experience working with minority and underprivileged populations.
- Computer proficiency and working knowledge of relevant technology tools.
- Ability to represent ECS effectively in a variety of settings and with diverse communities.
- Lead facilitation of Project Based learning STEAM integration and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) activity for elementary school youth curriculum.
- Oversee Project Based learning, STEAM integration, Literacy and social emotional learning activity for elementary school youth curriculum.
- Provide daily supervision, leadership and support with problem solving to ensure effective programming.
- Collaborate with other community organizations and city-wide stakeholders to benefit the program.
- Provide employees with program and agency wide information/updates to ensure cohesiveness.
- Develop and manage employee work schedules.
- Approve employee weekly timesheets
- Ensure appropriate projects, programs are developed and executed that utilize resources, follow policy and procedures and meet the expectation of the Office of Children and Families grant.
- Manage opportunities for students to experience STEAM and Literacy in different ways and modes.
- Assist Senior Director and Assistant Director with community outreach, recruitment, and retention of children, youth and adults to participate in Office of Children and Families activities.
- Oversee the creation, development and implementation of SchoCommunity Advisory Board.
- Provide daily supervision, leadership, and support for consultants and Part-time OST Personnel (including Security/Front Door Personnel).
- Manage Data entry using ADP (Payroll)/ Data Entry using City Span, and other data systems germane to program.
- Daily operations/logistics problem solving to ensure smooth and effective programming.
- Manage use of building space (classrooms, cafeteria, multi-purpose room and gymnasium).
- Manage and act as liaison for on-site activities and/or program enhancements.
- Oversight of a behavior management plan and the management of participant behaviors.
- Oversight of monthly themed Parent Nights
- Develop participant program schedules for the after-school and summer program.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with parents/guardians of program participants; School Principals, Teachers, Counselors and Building Engineers.
- Responsible for full cycle recruitment and termination of human resources (staff); including timesheets, performance and communication related documentation.
