What are the responsibilities and job description for the OST Director position at Xiente?
The Lead OST Site Director is responsible for overseeing the effective operation and compliance of all our Out-of-School Time (OST) program. The OST Director will provide leadership, guidance, and support to our OST group leaders and our activities coordinator and ensure the successful implementation of our after school and summer camp activities. They will ensure compliance with the funder and all licensing requirements.
Requirements:- Provide direct oversight and guidance to OST staff to ensure compliance with program protocols and licensing requirements.
- Conduct regular meetings with direct reports to review program, planning, progress, and address any challenges that may arise.
- Supervise and develop staff to deliver engaging and meaningful after-school and summer camp activities that align with program objectives.
- Ensure that Site Maintain 100% enrollment.
- Ensure that site meets or exceeds the attendance threshold of 85% attendance.
- Lead the planning and implementation of Project- Based Learning initiatives, focusing on Early Literacy Practices for k-5th graders and Career Awareness and Highschool Preparation for 6th- 8th graders across all sites.
- Direct the implementation of the Second Step OST social-emotional learning activities curriculum, and the Positive Action curriculum.
- Demonstrate outcomes by measuring increased reading motivation among k-5th graders and increased awareness of educational and career pathways among middle school youth.
- Engage participating families and facilitate connections to additional Xiente services or community resources as needed.
- Coordinate, participate, and ensure that all staff obtain 20 hours of training annually.
- Maintain regular communication with school principal, school staff, OST program liaisons, and program partners to ensure collaborative and effective program delivery.
- Oversee entering and tracking of student attendance and other KPI's, and report data, using Cityspan and Salesforce.
- Manage and Plan meal distribution.
- Manage inventory of program supplies.
- Manage the OST program budget effectively, ensuring that expenses are within budget limits.
- Complete any other duties as assigned by the Director of Education.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor's Degree or graduate-level work that includes coursework equivalent to a major in Early Childhood Education. (Official transcripts required to validate educational credentials.) Masters Preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience supervising staff and in management of an OST, afterschool, Summercamp program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to converse, read and write Spanish and English (preferred).
- Commitment to dual language learning (English and Spanish).
- Demonstrated ability to implement the use of appropriate curricula and instructional materials to enhance teaching and learning.
- Awareness of Puerto Rican culture/community (preferred).
- Ability to analyze and use data to inform decision-making.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, internet, and e-mail.
- Ability to secure clearance for PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History, FBI, and National Sex Offenders Clearance (required).
- Possess or ability to secure a Driver’s License and insurance (preferred).
- Ability to secure health clearances every two years and TB once (required).
- Proficiency in Excel, Powe point and Microsoft Office, Salesforce.
- Bilingual Spanish/English or another universal language.
