What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Engineer position at Equiliem?
We are currently seeking a full time structural engineer to join our staff.
- The position involves the evaluation of existing buildings and structures to identify deficiencies as well as the drafting of technical reports which outline the conditions found along with recommendations for remediation. The development of plans and specifications for correcting the conditions found is also an integral part of this position.
- The typical projects include building facades, parking garages, structural remediation and upgrades.
- The ability to communicate both verbally and in writing is required as client contact is an important part of this position.
- Experience with structural design analysis software is a plus.
- Familiarity with a variety of building types and materials such as wood, steel, fiberglass and concrete is anticipated of the successful candidate.
- Providing a high level of customer service and quality workmanship is an integral part of this position.
- This position also includes ongoing communication with the staff to be a proactive part of a teamwork based environment.

Our client is known through the industry for its expertise in working primarily with existing structures of all types for the evaluation and remediation of structural deficiencies as well as additions and upgrades. Our clientele includes both the residential and commercial marketplace primarily in the northeast although we do work on projects out of this area primarily related to cooling towers and air cooled condensers which is also an expertise.
