Position Summary:
The successful candidate will represent the developer during the fabrication of electrical systems on turbine foundations, ensuring timely completion within quality standards and HSE regulations. This involves supervising contractors to ensure successful fabrication and assembly of the turbine foundations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure free-issued equipment and components are installed, handled, and maintained according to project and vendor requirements.
- Supervise commissioning/testing of electrical systems.
- Provide advice and support to the Foundation Fabrication Manager.
- Verify that contractors adhere to agreed-upon designs and quality specifications.
- Maintain a safe working environment within the team and contractors/subcontractors on site, adhering to HSE guidelines and local procedures.
- Support relevant interfaces between contractors, subcontractors, and QA/QC representatives.
- Report directly to the Fabrication Manager.
- Stay informed about the HSE system and procedures relevant to the function, working in accordance with defined requirements.
- React to observed nonconformities and safety-related incidents.
Main Tasks (Support to Fabrication):
- Planning: The supervisor will plan inspections with the Fabrication Manager, aligning with internal and external stakeholders.
- Align with HV cables department on layout and quantity of accessories: Familiarize yourself with Array cables accessories and their layouts for each turbine foundation.
- Align with SCADA department on antenna and cable installation and requirements: Understand antenna layout and installation methods.
- Inspections with DIT (Digital Inspection Tool): Utilize the Digital inspection Tool software program to perform all inspections.
- Inspection of free-issued items at fabrication yard: Collaborate with the Foundation Contractor to supervise the installation of free-issued items, such as switchgears and electrical panels.
- Test on Completion, review of Electrical Test Certification, closing of punch lists: Review the Electrical Test Certification and conduct a full inspection walkdown (Test on completion) of the turbine foundation using DIT. Submit and close punch lists prior to the loadout deadline.
- Documentation responsibilities: Ensure all relevant documentation is received, reviewed, and uploaded to the dedicated project document control system.
- Reporting: Provide the Fabrication Manager with input for monthly reports regarding progress, status, deliveries, open points, and other project-related information daily.
Qualifications:
- 3 - 5 years' experience as an Electrical Fabrication Supervisor
- According to specific function requirements
- Electrical Engineering degree
- Site experience on fabrication yards, pre-assembly, or construction sites
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- No experience on wind turbines required
- GWO courses for onshore fabrication: None
- Working at heights between 10 - 30 feet
- Physically fit, with the ability to walk at least 10,000 steps per day and climb ladders
