Job Description
The IT Manager acts as a first point of contact for support of technological concerns both locally and centrally. This includes projection equipment, theatre management system (TMS), sound system, fire alarm, burglar alarm, CCTV, telephone system, internet system, digital signage, and computer hardware and software including Point of Sale, office, laptops, networking, and additional peripherals. In addition, the IT Manager will lead efforts in sourcing, selecting, installing, implementing, maintaining and updating all technology related software, hardware, equipment and systems for Es Vedra Cinemas.
Job Responsibilities
- Train theatre managers and staff on the proper use and maintenance of systems and equipment at the theatres. Train corporate office managers and staff on proper use and maintenance of office systems and equipment.
- Maintain hardware for point-of-sale systems including printers, signage, cash registers, kiosks, and any related peripherals
- Upgrading software as patches and new releases become available. Add additional modules as needed.
- Generating best practices for use of POS on both front and back end.
- Aid theater managers with database organization and entry. Assist with Point-of-Sale layouts.
- Work with third-party vendors and industry specific systems to develop and implement solutions to point of sale configuration and support issues.
- Maintain/update/upgrade office computers, laptops, printers, and etcetera as needed.
- Maintain/upgrade security equipment (cameras, recorder)
- Maintain/upgrade additional equipment (audio/video resources, mobile devices)
- Maintain/upgrade office networking and file server equipment (QuickBooks server, networking hardware)
- Maintain wired and wireless network for POS, projectors, wireless, and peripherals.
- Provide on-site and remote support to theater managers for point-of-sale systems, networking, phone systems, projection, and signage.
- Provide on-site and remote support to office managers and staff for computers, printers, e-mail, networking, and file servers.
- Create documents and procedures for best practices in operations and troubleshooting
- Hire and manage employees to maintain regular maintenance and performance at all locations
- Assess needs for projection expansion
- Documentation of processes, best practices, support protocols.
Required Skills
- Experience in implementing effective and innovative software development methodologies
- Operations experience in a production environment
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Solid writing skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies
- Broad knowledge of data processing systems, concepts, and methodologies
Education & Experience
- Minimum three (3) years of experience within Information Technology in a retail, restaurant or cinema company operating in multiple store locations.
- Experience in the following technologies/products
- Windows Server / IIS
- Microsoft SQL server
- Networking
- Series 2 Digital Cinema technology (projectors & servers)
- Vista, RTS, and other theatre and restaurant point of sale software.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, climbing stairs
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Comfortability around flashing lights & loud noise
