Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct in-depth variance analysis to explain fluctuations and provide insights to management.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
- Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
- Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation of vendor invoices.
- File sales tax in compliance with state and local regulations.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Accrue expenses at month-end, ensuring proper recognition of costs and compliance with accounting standards.
- Perform complex reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Monitor and assess financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Track and maintain records of fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and disposals.
- Collaborate with departments to ensure accurate recording of fixed asset additions and retirements.
- Work closely with teams across the organization to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing accurate financial data and analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting.
- Strong MS Excel and Word skills
- Familiar with Paymaster payroll a plus.
- Understanding of Sage Intacct a plus.
- Multi-site retail experience a plus.
