Role Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Law Attorney to join our team at Eskew Law in Indianapolis, IN. This is a full-time role where the Family Law Attorney will be responsible for handling a wide range of family law matters, including but not limited to divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and property division. The attorney will be expected to manage cases from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, attending court hearings, and providing expert counsel to clients on a day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping clients navigate complex legal issues
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and property division.
- Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Conduct legal research and provide expert legal advice to clients.
- Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients' best interests.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies.
- Stay current with changes in family law and related legal issues.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Indiana State Bar
- Practice in family law and a preference of 2 years of experience in handling family law cases
- Strong analytical, research, trial and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Experience in handling legal issues, motions, depositions, and trials.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
