We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Intern to join our Team. The successful candidate will work in the Summer of 2025 under direct supervision of Plant Management. This job applies knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a variety of assignments in support of Plant operations and maintenance. This role will work on small projects or portions of larger projects, shadow and assist Station operations and maintenance personnel as assigned, develop their own recommendations for resolving assigned technical issues, assist with regulatory compliance, and contribute to overall station reliability.

Job Responsibilities
- Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Is knowledgeable and adheres to all safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in daily activities associated with the safe and reliable operation of the Plant.
- Gain knowledge of combustion turbine generator combined cycle operations through Team interaction and self-directed research.
- Work activities may include such items as preparation of reports, calculations, specifications and scope documents as well as generating sketches and drawings.
- The Engineering Intern will work with the equipment on how to analyze and troubleshoot equipment problems.
- May assist the Operations Team and Maintenance Team with daily and routine activities (surveillance rounds, water/steam chemistry, predictive/preventive maintenance tasks).
- Establishes good working relationships with Teammates, Team Leaders, and Plant Staff.
- Participate in training programs as assigned, including both instructor led and computer based, with a focus on health, safety, environmental, technical (power plant/combined cycle plant operations and maintenance), and human resources.
- Assists with assigned projects.
- The Engineering Intern student will be expected to develop and present an “Internship Exit Presentation” highlighting their accomplishments during the internship.
- Able to follow instructions and be a Team player.
- Effective verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics is a plus.
- Advanced user knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Access, and Outlook)
- Previous demonstrated experience in an industrial production environment with a proven record of accomplishment is preferred, but not required.
- Must be currently enrolled full-time in an ABET accredited Engineering program at a four-year college or university.
- Electrical, Mechanical or Power Engineering students preferred.
- Must have a 3.0 GPA or greater.
- Rising sophomore, rising junior, or rising senior students.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to do walking, reaching, climbing, and stooping and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to enter confined spaces and work at heights.
- No relocation or living expenses provided.
- Local candidates preferred.
- Annual Salary Range for this position is $12,000 - $18,000, based on experience and skills set
