Job Description
Position Title: School Bookkeeper-Primary School
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; Three years of bookkeeping and secretarial experience. B.S. in Accounting/ Business preferred
Reports To: Principal
Supervises:
Job Goal: Assist with the financial management of the school
Length of Contract: 222 Days
Performance Responsibilities:
- Maintain a complete and systematic set of records for all financial transactions of the system.
- Record details of school financial transactions on a computerized accounting system.
- Maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly financial statements.
- Prepare deposits and make daily deposits of cash.
- Reconcile monthly bank statements.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual school budget, including athletics and other school-sponsored clubs.
- Assist with school-sponsored club and organization fundraising activities and prepare reconciliation reports.
- Prepare and submit monthly payroll records to the appropriate person at the Central Office.
- Trace errors and records adjustments to correct charges or credits posted to incorrect accounts.
- Responsible for inventory control.
- Serve in a support role when the secretary is unable to fulfill duties.
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to student and financial records and all matters.
- Prioritize and manage multiple deadlines effectively to support the school's financial operations and maintain compliance with all internal and external timelines.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Principal, as long as they are not in conflict with board policy.

Salary: Established by the Board of Education as recommended by the Superintendent
