Essential Job Functions:
The Human Resources Director (HRD) will participate as a member of the Senior Management team for Evanston Regional Hospital and Clinics. The HRD reports directly to the CEO and is a partner to the leadership team, responsible for defining, developing, and implementing human resources initiatives. The HRD will participate in all areas of Human Resources, including employee relations, coaching and leadership for performance management, talent acquisition and assessment, compensation management, policy and procedures, and managing the HR team consisting of one Coordinator/Generalist. Uses creativity, sound judgement and gained experience to manages and resolve employee issues, manager concerns and organizational needs. The HRD position will require hand-on HR administration. Will maintain responsibility for the entire HR function under the guidance of the CEO and Corporate HR.
Job Summary:
- Responsible for providing leadership related to all areas of Human Resources for the hospital and clinics.
- Lead the activities of Human Resources in the hospital including defining expectations, training and managing performance.
- Responsible for developing and implementing effective, retention and succession planning programs, utilizing metrics and analysis.
- Serves as a liaison with the hospital leadership team, communicating and leading HR strategic initiatives, analysis and recommendations.
- Maintain consistent administration and application of HR policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, Joint Commission and CMS regulations.
- Drive employee engagement through positive communication and interactions, strong leadership of campus activities and events that support and enhance the established high-performance culture.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required
- 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience required (preference given for healthcare industry experience)
- 3 years of experience in a Human Resources leadership role.
