Position Summary:

The Safety Coordinator supports the Safety Manager in enforcing and maintaining strict adherence to both Evergreen and Phillips 66 safety policies. This is an entry level position that is a field-first role (roughly 80% in the field and 20% in an office setting) and is ideal for someone eager to grow their safety career in a fast-paced, industrial environment. The role requires strong observational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct and document safety audits and inspections, including:

• Job Safety Analyses (JSA)

• Job Safety Observations (JSO)

• Behavioral-Based Safety (BBS) Inspections

• Vehicle Inspections

• Maintain and manage PPE inventory; ensure proper distribution and use

• Calibrate, bump test, and track gas monitoring equipment

• Oversee monthly and annual inspections of:

• Fire extinguishers

• Respiratory equipment

• Fall protection gear

• Various PPE and other equipment

• Manage training records and ensure completion of required safety courses

• Coordinate employee’s annual physicals and respirator fit testing

• Assist with various safety initiatives and tasks as directed

Physical Requirements:

This role involves working in industrial field environments and may include climbing, standing for extended periods, navigating tight spaces, and working in varying weather conditions.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer applications

• Capable of working at heights, in confined spaces, and climbing ladders/stairs

• Comfortable working outdoors in industrial environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or higher

• Prior experience in an oil refinery or industrial setting

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

• Familiarity with hazard identification and risk management

• Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail

Work Schedule:

• Core hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

• Must be flexible and available for overtime, night shifts, and extended hours during refinery turnarounds and high-demand periods
