Position Summary:
The Executive Director of Every Child Linn Benton Lincoln is responsible for implementing and measuring the effectiveness of the local community effort to support the foster system by engaging community organizations, faith communities, businesses, individuals, families, and funders to intentionally knit together a relationship between Oregon’s Department of Human Services (ODHS) and the Linn, Benton, and Lincoln community-at-large. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing strategic planning and implementing the operations and programs of Every Child while supporting the organization’s missions and goals. The Executive Director provides support to the Board of Directors, guides staff, and oversees volunteer programs. The Executive Director is responsible for managing and supporting the annual program budget through individual development, grant writing, and fundraising events.
Education and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
- 3 years of nonprofit management including staff management
- Experience in successfully working with a diverse group of constituents utilizing multi-cultural intelligence, intentional listening, appreciation, and respect
- Effective manager with a focus on being self-directed and goal-oriented, proactively collaborating externally and internally
- Excellent external, internal, and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Excellent skills with computer applications including Microsoft, emails, online meetings, and other software
- Experience working with project management tools
- A willingness to be “hands-on” and work in a lean, fast-paced organization with limited administrative support
- The capability of handling ambiguity and driving the work autonomously.
- The ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse, perpetually changing environment, while maintaining a calm and positive spirit.

Working Conditions:
- Work also consists of moving throughout buildings and various sites.
- Remains in stationary positions for extended periods of time. Remains in a standing (and seated) position for extended periods of time. Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, and squatting in the performance of daily activities. Grasping, repetitive hand movement, fine coordination in writing and using a computer keyboard.
- Varied work schedule, including some evening and/or weekend hours.
- May require lifting and moving items up to 50lbs.
- Work may include travel within the State of Oregon for meetings and/or conferences.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Operations
- Ensure the financial sustainability of the organization with the resources planned or in place to meet current and projected program growth
- Personally solicit donations, gifts, grants, event sponsors, and other sources
- Implement program operations and evaluation of our Every Child initiatives
- Develop, monitor, and manage organizational budget
- Oversee management of the annual calendar for Every Child, including community events, volunteer appreciation, launch and roll-out of new initiatives
- Work collaboratively with community partners to support events and activities sponsored by Every Child
- Participate in Every Child Statewide learning community calls, webinars and trainings
- Manage and direct a diverse team of staff through leadership, guidance and mentorship to ensure the goals and mission of ECLBL are followed
- Conduct weekly team check-ins with staff
- Support and guide team staff to
- Develop marketing and storytelling strategy around volunteer recruitment
- Mentor team staff with Volunteer on-boarding, training, and tracking of engagements
- Develop and oversee volunteer communication journey, volunteer appreciation, and recognition strategies
- Develop a volunteer cultivation journey that deepens a volunteer’s engagement and financial support of the Every Child’s work
- Build a team of high-capacity volunteer ODHS Liaisons for each Child Welfare office
- Conduct bi-monthly Discover Meetings to invite potential volunteers into specific engagement opportunities
- Build and refine volunteer management structure including building strategies and systems
Board Development
- Identify, recruit and develop effective Board Members
- Collaborate with the Board to advance ECLBL priorities and fulfill the fiduciary responsibilities
- Oversee Board Development
- Prepare and attend Board Meetings
- Attend other meetings as instructed by the Board including various committee meetings
Recruitment, Training, and Retention
- Partner with ODHS Champions on recruitment events for resource (foster) parents (may require some evenings and/or weekends)
- Work collaboratively with Every Child Staff Teams to recruit, train, and retain mentors and mentees
- Innovate, implement, and refine, new and existing initiatives focused on the recruitment and retention of local foster (resource families) including but not limited to:
- Explore Fostering Socials (English and Spanish)
- Foster Parents Night Out
- My NeighbOR
- The Neighborhood
- Respite Mix and Mingles
- Project Lemonade
- Support the retention of resource families by hosting trainings for resource (foster) families utilizing evidence-based curriculums
- Work with team staff to create and implement program evaluations to increase recruitment of resource (foster) parents and community volunteer teams that support them
- Coordinate resource parent support events during foster care awareness month (May) and other events
- Attend community events and meetings to continually promote awareness and support work (requires some evenings and weekends)
Communication
- Oversee the storytelling and marketing communications strategy including newsletters and social media content
- As liaison for Every Child, connect with leaders at ODHS at the district level to communicate about initiative’s progress, and make strategic requests to manage volunteer and foster parent inquiries
- Regularly reflect gratitude for partnership to ODHS, volunteers, businesses, donors, and faith community leaders
- Commutate regularly with Board, Executive Committee, and other Board Committees as assigned
Consultation and Collaboration with Every Child Oregon
- Work collaboratively with Every Child Oregon (ECO) to improve and advance ECLBL programs including but not limited to:
- Foster Parent Support, Recruitment, and Retention for onboarding new Foster Parent Night Out (FPNO) for all three counties
- Develop and/or implement trauma informed training for respite/childcare volunteers and resource (foster) parents
- Cultivate a partnership with ECO and ODHS’s certified respite program develop a model that can be implemented locally and scaled statewide with ECO to develop a model
Fundraising
- Develop fundraising strategies
- Coordinate fundraising events
- Ensure resources and funding are used in accordance with any restrictions placed
- Personally solicit donations, gifts, grants, event sponsors, and other sources
- Communicate with donors and supporters regarding the mission and needs of Every Child
- Procure in-kind donations for ODHS hospitality, room makeovers, tangible needs, etc.
Employment:
- Full-time (40 hours), exempt position
- This position is located in the Albany Oregon but serves three counties which requires travel
- Legally eligible to work in the United States

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
