About This Job:
-Instructors teach fun, after-school science classes to elementary-age students
-Materials and lesson plans are provided (You will not need to create any lesson plans or provide any of the materials).
-Teachers teach classes on-site Wednesdays 4:15-5:45 in Riverton and Fridays 4:15-5:45 in South Jordan (the schedule and locations can vary).
-Instructors are paid $35 per hour for teaching, set up and clean up ($52.50 for a 1.5-hour shift) and given an additional $35 (1 hour per week) to prepare the classes.
-Summer hours may also be available.
Position Responsibilities:
-Conducting exciting science experiments with groups of up to 24 students at a time.
-Ensuring the student safety during experiments.
-Use lesson plans to teach basic chemistry, magnets, static electricity etc.
Instructor Qualifications:
-Extremely reliable with a proven ability to report to work regularly and on time.
-Good with children
-Pass a criminal background check
-Commitment to work through the end of the school year May 2025, but longer-term commitments are strongly preferred.
-Have a reliable personal vehicle to drive to different class locations.
-Able to lift and carry 30 pounds at a time.
