Job Responsibilities/Overview:
As an Aircraft Finish Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the aircraft’s paintwork is polished to perfection before delivery to the customer. Your responsibilities will include buffing, touch-up work, and inspecting the final finish to guarantee the highest level of quality.
Job Duties:
- Buff and polish aircraft surfaces to achieve a high-gloss finish and remove any imperfections.
- Perform minor paint touch-ups, addressing any small defects or inconsistencies in the paint.
- Use buffing equipment and other specialized tools to enhance the finish of the aircraft’s exterior and maintain a clean exterior and interior prior to customer pick-up.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail during all stages of the process, ensuring smooth finishes, accurate color matching, and flawless surface finishing.
- Collaborate with the paint team to address any final adjustments or corrections before delivery.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage and care of finishing tools and materials.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines, including proper use of protective equipment and handling of materials.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to run a high-speed polisher for extended periods of time.
- Comfortable working at various heights, on ladders, and within ambient temperatures.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if necessary
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Prior body shop experience is required; completion of an automotive or trade school program in collision repair, bodywork, or painting is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in an industrial or shop environment.
