Position Title: Behavior Technician – Early Intervention and School Aged Program

About the Program:

Evoke Behavioral Health’s South Denver campus serves children ages 1-12 diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses. This program provides comprehensive treatment to increase functional skills (communication, self-help, self-management, group skills) and decrease challenging behavior that could compromise that child's quality of life. Clinical Supervisors (BCBAs) have small caseload sizes and are always on-site to ensure that high levels of case support and supervision are provided!

This is a year-round program, running Monday - Friday. Staff hours are full-time (35 - 40 hours/week), scheduled between the hours of 8:00 - 4:00. There are ongoing scheduled paid trainings and team meetings that may begin as early as 7:45 am or end as late as 4:45 pm.

About the Position:

In this role you will work with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and/or other related intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing ABA therapy under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts. Behavior Technicians play a huge role in teaching the skills to our learners that promote independence, dignity, and access to the community.

Main job duties include:

  • Delivery of ABA services under the supervision of BCBAs.
  • Implementation of treatment plans.
  • Data collection on client specific goals.
  • Writing objective session notes and reports.
  • Communicating professionally with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilizing de-escalation and physical management (Safety Care) as needed and without restriction. This training is provided by the company’s on-site trainer(s).
  • Providing behavioral support needs.
  • Assisting learners with activities of daily living and personal care as needed.
  • Working closely with the clinical team.
  • Ensuring the general cleanliness and organization of the center.
  • Attending staff trainings and team meetings.
  • Providing support to learners on community outings/field trips (company vehicle).
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Behavior Technicians report directly to the Clinical Coordinator.

Schedule Details:

Monday – Friday / 8:00 – 4:00. Consistent 37 - 40 hours/week.

Periodic/scheduled trainings and team meetings may start as early as 7:45am and end as late as 4:45pm on certain days.

Overtime may be required in emergency situations but is not routine.

Paid Training is essential for you to be able to do your job safely and effectively. We provide paid, in-house, training in the following areas:

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
  • Safety Care; De-escalation and physical management.
  • Cultural competency.
  • Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Data Collection / CentralReach.
  • On-going clinical training and professional development.

Evoke Behavioral Health has a full-time, BCBA certified trainer on staff for initial and on-going training and additional support for Behavior Technicians. All Behavior Technicians are provided with a minimum of 2 weeks of paid training before being independent with clients.

  • Practicum supervision is provided to ABA graduate students pursuing BCBA or BCaBA certification. No employment commitment or contract required.
  • Frequent performance and training-based pay raises.

Pay Rate:

$21.00 - $26.00 / Hour. Dependent on experience, education, and relevant training/ certifications.

Position Must-Haves:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current CPR and First-Aid Certification.
  • Ability and willingness to pass a state and federal background check.
  • Ability to implement the entire Safety-Care curriculum without restrictions. (Safety Care training paid for and provided by company.)
  • Reliable transportation to and from the workplace. This is a 100% center-based position.

Position Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
  • Ability to go up and down stairs repeatedly and without restriction.
  • Ability to run, jump, pivot quickly, and to go to and from seated, kneeling, and squatting to standing repeatedly and without restriction.

Position Nice-To-Haves:

  • Registered Behavior Technician Certification (RBT).
  • ABA experience.
  • Experience with CentralReach.
  • Experience working with people on the autism spectrum.
  • Experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Experience working with people with psychiatric diagnoses.
  • Qualified Medication Administration Person Certification (QMAP).
  • Valid CO Driver’s License.

Position Type and Details:

  • Monday – Friday, Day Shift.
  • Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt.
  • Center-Based.
  • At-will.
  • Overtime may be required on an emergency basis.
  • No remote work available for this position.
