Responsibilities:
- Responsible for basic line handling and knowledge of Coast Guard regulations
- Conduct guided tours, sharing interesting facts about the lake’s history, wildlife, and landmarks.
- Ensure passenger safety by following all safety protocols and providing safety briefings.
- Answer guest questions and provide excellent customer service.
- Assist with boarding and disembarking passengers.
- Assist with readying the boats and cleaning duties.
- Communicate effectively with the crew and management regarding any issues.
- Participate in staff training and guide enrichment as necessary
- Respect boat operation guidelines and rules and be accountable in following them
- Other duties per Duties Checklist and as requested
Position Requirements:
- Prior experience as a tour guide, boat captain, or similar role (preferred).
- Strong public speaking and storytelling abilities.
- CPR and First Aid certification (Required).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
- Physically able to assist passengers.
- Must be physically able to hike up and down a strenuous one mile with approximately 700 feet of elevation gain daily.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Knowledge of local history, wildlife, and marine ecosystems.
- Multilingual abilities (a plus).
- Customer service and hospitality experience.
