GENERAL FUNCTION
The Manager – Business Analytics will play a critical role in leading standard and ad hoc client reporting workstreams and general report development. This role serves as a subject matter expert for specific reporting deliverables, working with key functional areas to understand business needs, act as a thought partner, and translate business questions into analytical solutions. This role will lead critical governance and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing and maintaining an industrialized data ecosystem that enables a wide range of reporting & analytics cases and requirements across the business.

Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead the design, build and validation of new reports in collaboration with business partners to define and document requirements, provide recommendations regarding necessary data elements, custom logic, formatting and layout, procedural standards and operational efficiency
- Lead problem solving efforts for cross-functional teams and develops specific recommendations and action plans with business leaders
- Collaborate on the implementation and management of standards, policies, processes, tools, data architecture and frameworks that enable enterprise-wide data governance
- Translate business questions into analytical problems, extrapolate actionable insights from data analysis, and communicate critical findings to business partners
- Create and maintain implementation and administration of knowledge management frameworks, including the collection, organization and maintenance of documentation on data architecture, project requirements, process flows and performance standards
- Build and maintain data dictionaries covering data definitions, mapping/cross-referencing, formatting, locations and availability, as well as a SQL library/Git repository to enable tool and platform agnostic standardized code sets
- Ensure appropriate tracking, monitoring and reporting capabilities, and assess performance and process improvement opportunities
- Act as the subject matter expert for team members, providing guidance and training on technical procedures and best practices, selection and use of data sources and tools, follow-up questions or analysis, data integrity concerns, troubleshooting and optimization, ensuring that quality and timeliness standards are consistently maintained
- Learn and monitor industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance data and reporting capabilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in an analytical/technical field, or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of experience in data analytics and/or reporting
- Experience with cleansing, integrating and analyzing large and complex data sets
- Proficient in Business Objects (or similar GUI reporting platforms), SQL and Excel
- Strong balance of business, analytics and technology acumen
- Strong communication, critical thinking, problem solving and project management skills
- High accountability, learning agility and attention to detail
- Programming experience in R, Python or SAS
- Expertise in Business Objects report development and optimization
- Experience with data visualization development, such as Qlik, Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with Facets
- Expertise in business or health informatics, data architecture, warehousing and pipeline/ETL
- Experience with process re-engineering and automation
