Salary: $30.00-$45.00 DOE

The Foreman will primarily coordinate operations and oversee workers at construction site. The foreman is the key person in charge of overseeing the completion of the project and as such must be able to always see the “big picture”.

Position duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Project Management (Project Specific)

  • Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being followed at all sites and at all times.
  • Coordinate daily tasks, according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery and personnel.
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities and individual projects to the crew and contractors
  • Brief crew members about how daily operations will be carried out.
  • Ensure that all machinery and tools are available to the crew, and everything is in proper order and state of maintenance.
  • Perform inspections to ensure that the crew’s performance is up to the set standards.
  • Coordinate separate modules of the construction process to ensure harmony.
  • Develop and oversee quality standards on all sites.
  • Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on site quickly and amicably.
  • Follow the direction of the Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, and Project Manager as needed.
  • Able to verify and establish grades.
  • Verify shop drawings for accuracy.
  • Estimate and order materials as needed.

Project Management (Administration)

  • Produce work schedules in accordance with availability of employees, contractors and labor laws and monitor the attendance of crew.
  • Accurately submit crew members’ time sheets to payroll by deadline
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, manage and train employees and contractors.
  • Provide adequate resources and staffing to meet safety needs, regulations, best practices, laws, and project schedules.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets on all sites.
  • Report project status to supervisors, site engineers and officials regularly.
  • Accurately submit crew members time sheets to payroll by deadline.
  • Attends operations meetings as scheduled.
  • Enforces all company safety policies and procedures and OSHA compliance.
  • Handle on-site incidents and emergencies in a proactive manner.
  • Fill out and record extra work in Extra Work Tracking forms.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 5 years construction/carpentry experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction, excavation, concrete, framing, flooring, roofing, windows, cabinetry and finish work.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow construction plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.

Physical Ability:

  • Able to perform tasks for all aspects of a construction project including lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs. for 50 ft, climbing a ladder: and working in various weather conditions.

The Construction Foreman is considered a safety-sensitive position. Safety-sensitive positions are required to complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
