Responsibilities
We are looking for a graduate student or senior year undergraduate student in mechanical or related engineering fields to join a team of scientists dedicated to battery fire safety research under the supervision of research scientists as a summer intern.
The purpose of this position is to design and conduct experiments in the area of lithium-ionbattery flammability research under the supervision of research scientists. The scope includesdeveloping a deeper understanding of the lithium-ion battery thermal runaway mechanism, conducting data analysis, and documenting test results and research outcome.
Qualifications
The position requires a Doctorate degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related fields with a background in battery safety, fluid mechanics, heat transfer.
Highly preferred graduate student or senior year undergraduate student.
Hands-on experimental skill and experience are required. Familiar with Matlab, Python, and commercialCFD package. Also needed are excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well asdemonstrated skills in developing solutions to challenging technical problems.
This is an in-office role based in Norwood, MA. Temporary relocation support provided for selected qualified candidate.
