What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server Assistant (back-server) position at Fahrenheit 132?
A server's assistant, or back-server as we call it, is critical to the operation of the restaurant. There is 1 back-server assigned to every 2 main servers. The back-server's job responsibilities include: water service, soda/tea refills, bread service, marking silverware, clearing plates, running food, resetting tables, boxing up food, and other associated tasks.
This can be your first job in the restaurant industry or maybe you have been a server at a casual restaurant, and you want to move into something more upscale. We will train you on every component of the job, there is no specific experience required; being a "people-person" helps. For those with prior experience, this is a great way to get your foot in the door and start working while you get your food and beverage knowledge up to par.
There are a couple of components to the job that we feel important to discuss:
- Shifts are 5-8 hours long
- You will be on your feet the entire time
- These are all night/evening shifts, the average time a shift ends varies between 9pm-midnight.
- Sunday is mandatory (for the first 6 months) but is a great shift!
- You will be interacting with lots of people
