Under general supervision, this position provides visitor information services, fee collection, and assistance to park staff with general park operations. Assignments may include a variety of light duty tasks related to overall park operation. Position requires courtesy and diplomacy in providing the services and information.
SALARY: Grade 93
REPORTS TO: Pioneer Park Supervisor
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None1. Assist Park Guides.
2. Provide visitor information services.
3. Interpret natural features and history of the park and region.
4. Collect fees and balance cash daily.
5. Operation of cash registers.
6. Assist in collecting data and record keeping.
7. Routine cleaning of various facilities.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum age for this position is 16.
2. Familiarity with Alaskan landmarks, points of interest, and lifestyles.
3. Willingness to wear 1890's period clothing, the required dress code for the Park, which is provided.
4. Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and irregular working shifts.
5. Standard First Aid, Adult CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications, as recognized by the American Red Cross (or equivalent) preferred. (APPLICANTS WHO HOLD A CURRENT CERTIFICATION MUST PROVIDE ORIGINAL CERTIFICATIONS AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW.)

1. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
2. Ability to handle money and perform cashier duties as required.
3. Ability to effectively communicate and deal with the public in a continually courteous and tactful manner.
