Under general supervision of the Division Administrative Assistant and Superintendent, will provide visitor information services, train/monitor Park Aides, and assist Park staff with the general park operations. Assignments may include a variety of light duty tasks related to overall park administration and visitor assistance. Incumbents are responsible for working with Pioneer Park's summer visitors by explaining the attractions of the park, city and state, and giving concise directions to various tourist attractions throughout the state. Position requires continual contact with the public and considerable skill in: tact, patience, courtesy and diplomacy in providing the services and information. Provides daily direct supervision to Park Aides in conjunction with the Division Administrative Assistant.SALARY: Grade 94REPORTS TO: Division Administrative Assistant & SuperintendentPOSITIONS SUPERVISED: Pioneer Park Aides
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Supervise Park Aides, including developing daily work schedules, assigning work, and ensuring safe and effective operations.2. Assist park staff with general parks operations.3. Conduct walking interpretative tours.4. Recommend minor maintenance adjustments.5. Collect RV parking fees and prepare and balance daily deposits.6. Take picnic shelter reservations, and input into computerized scheduling program.7. Provide visitor information services.8. Interpret natural and historic features of the park and region.9. Assist in collecting data and record keeping.10. Daily setup of cash registers; make cash drops and change as needed.
