The incumbent in this position will supervise a group of four (4) Summer Youth Laborers who will perform routine park custodial and landscape maintenance as well as painting and minor repairs.SALARY: Grade 94REPORTS TO: Parks Maintenance Supervisor or Chena Lake Manager or Pioneer Park SupervisorPOSITIONS SUPERVISED: Four (4) Summer Youth Laborer
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Coordinate activities for crew with Maintenance Division of Parks & Recreation.2. Coordinate work and maintenance/custodial/groundskeeping schedules.3. Supervise summer youth laborers, including assigning work, and ensuring safe and effective operations.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
JOB CONTACTS: Frequent interdepartmental business contact; continuous routine public contact, and frequent contact involving outside organizations/agencies.JOB RESPONSIBILITY: Supervisor responsibilities: directs work flow of permanent/temporary/seasonal/ volunteers during summer months; experiences minor problems daily and occasional major ones that must be resolved on own initiative with little immediate supervision; the consequences of error, carelessness or mistaken judgment require significant effort to recover.WORK ENVIRONMENT: Shop area where conditions are pleasant; varied outdoor work sites with disagreeable conditions with undesirable elements or factors on a somewhat continuous basis; up to 3/4 of time is spent standing, or walking; major accident/hazard risk; requires sustained periods of heavy lifting, pushing or pulling (50 lbs.).
