Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Support Specialist to join our team on a 5-month onsite contract basis. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver onsite support across all service offerings, following ITIL service processes for change, incident, release, and configuration management.
- Execute the implementation of new service component releases into the operational environment while managing moves, adds, and changes to service components, including routers, firewalls, switches, gateways, cable infrastructure, and communication protocols.
- Conduct site surveys, assessments, and physical inventories as required.
- Collaborate with analysts and specialists to effectively resolve incidents and problems.
- Perform installations of new equipment and infrastructure at client locations, including cabling, switches, patch panels, VOIP, firewalls, routers, and access points (APs).
- Ensure the availability of the necessary tools, cables, and hardware for service visits.
- Consult with clients to arrange site visits and maintain effective communication throughout the process.
- Manage data and inventory control related to hardware and IT assets, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Proficient understanding of ITIL service processes.
- Experience working with network components such as routers, firewalls, and switches.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Capable of conducting thorough site surveys and physical inventories.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client engagement and vendor coordination.
- Relevant experience in IT support and services is preferred.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure and IT asset management.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with relevant IT certifications considered an asset.
