We are seeking an experienced Inventory Specialist for an 11-month on-site contract in Raleigh, NC. This role is pivotal in managing and documenting inventory processes, specifically utilizing Genetec software and the associated components for Physical Security systems. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the management, processing, and accounting of all equipment, devices, materials, and components vital for facility and building implementations.
- Collaborate closely with Distribution Center personnel to keep them informed about pending orders.
- Conduct semi-annual inventory evaluations to verify that all items are accurately accounted for, and submit these assessment reports to Security Management for review.
- Maintain safety stock levels and generate scheduled reports for NCDOT Security Management, detailing all inbound and outbound materials, current inventory levels by part number, and other relevant metrics.
- Ensure the timely invoicing of materials upon receipt and coordinate scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
- Identify devices approaching their end-of-life and arrange necessary replacements, as well as manage badging supplies effectively.
- Handle surplus processes in compliance with NC State policies while ensuring proper disposal of retired servers as per Information Security Office guidelines.
- Provide support to the Security Operations Center (SOC) with basic system configurations, troubleshooting, and performing monthly device testing across various locations.
- Assist in the documentation of new building constructions and requests for additional devices, while managing the removal processes for devices due to various operational needs.
- Strong proficiency in inventory management practices and familiarity with Genetec software.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the capacity to generate detailed assessments and reports.
- Understanding of security protocols and effective problem-solving abilities for device troubleshooting.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in inventory management or physical security is preferred.
