Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between healthcare providers and the HIE to ensure accurate data submission.
- Utilize Mirth Interface Engine, Intersystems HealthShare Health Insight, HealthShare Clinical Viewer, and SAS technologies to support the North Carolina Health Information Exchange Authority.
- Ensure data is reliable and in a usable format for the NC HealthConnex system.
- Provide guidance on data submission standards to participants and vendors.
- Define and monitor data quality guidelines and processes.
- Track all data quality tasks through the NC HealthConnex ticketing system.
- Collaborate with participants and vendors to address data quality issues.
- Participate in various meetings to report project progress and collaborate with team members.
- Deep understanding of healthcare IT architectural principles and technical specifications.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Extensive knowledge of clinical data management, including EHR, HL7 v2 (particularly ADT data), and C-CDA messages.
- Minimum of three years of experience with electronic health record data, with a focus on Admission, Discharge, and Transfer (ADT) processes.
- Competency in running and modifying SQL queries.
- Familiarity with developing and documenting clinical workflows and processes.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance related to EHR systems and HIE.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in understanding clinical data flow within Intersystems HealthShare and related systems.
- Background in developing training materials or reports based on clinical data trends.
- Direct clinical or clinical application experience is preferred.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) level expertise in clinical data and healthcare information systems.
- Proven track record in healthcare data management and quality assurance.
