Fairview Health Services is hiring a manager of cardiovascular operations at our M Health Fairview Southdale hospital in Edina, MN.
This position is responsible for management of the cardiovascular operations including CT, MR, Echo, Nuclear, EKG and Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The manager will be responsible for hiring and supervising CV staff within the CV Imaging department including Echo, CT, MR, EKG and within Cardiac Cath Lab. For the overall CV operations within the procedural areas the manager will oversee accreditation, fiscal management, and partnering with the medical director and service line director to develop and implement cardiovascular strategies for the site and System. The manager will also work collaboratively with the medical imaging departmental managers to provide oversight to the operation of the shared modalities of CT, MR, and nuclear imaging along with like departments across the System
Schedule: This position will be working 1.0 FTE. The shift length will be 8 hours on the day shift.

Responsibilities Job Description
Provides leadership for the cardiac imaging and cardiac catheterization lab in collaboration with the Director of Cardiovascular Services, the medical directors, and imaging management of shared modalities
· Develops strategic plan consistent with Fairview’s long-range plan.
· Develops and implements three-year goals, annual objectives and capital plans jointly with medical director and Service Line Director.
· Drafts annual financial plan and reviews with medical director and UMMC Sr. Director of Cardiovascular Services prior to submission.
· Sets priorities for improvements as part of the annual planning process, Implements approved improvements
· Plans for future developments, including changes in staffing, workload, computer hardware/software, space, equipment and staff education.
Directs daily operations of the cardiac imaging and cardiac cath lab to provide safe and effective care.
· Recommends and formulates staffing policies and procedures and coordinates them with Fairview’s policies and applicable unions.
· Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and advancing professional practice to improve the quality of services.
· Determines staffing needs as evidenced by budgetary analysis and department indicators on an ongoing basis, providing an appropriate number, mix and selection of competent staff.
· Promotes open and effective lines of communication within the department and with other Fairview departments.
· Partners with the department medical director to address clinical and other issues of mutual concern.
· Develops and implements policies, procedures and performance standards, in consultation with medical director and Human Resources. Monitors and enforces those policies related to techs and support staff.
· Fosters a culture of collaboration by scheduling and providing on-going and regular communication with the medical director on operations of the department.
· Is present and available to staff and medical director and provides frequent, direct communication with staff to ensure effective operations and to promote positive employee relations.
Accountable for planning and financial management for the departments.
· Ensures proper utilization of financial resources.
· Manages productivity for the staff.
· Coordinates department’s needs for IT support; maintains log of IT requests and follow up.
Accountable for management, planning and financial management for the CV Diagnostic &Treatment (D&T) area of the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC).

Responsible for human resource management of staff.
· Recruits, hires and retains quality employees.
· Works collaboratively with assigned Human Resources Business Partner.
· Counsels staff in human resource management issues.
· Ensures compliance with policies, department guidelines and applicable union contracts.
· Leads efforts to improve employee engagement, including annual action planning in response to employee surveys.
· Provides leadership in team building and conflict management.
· Orients and mentors new and existing employees.
· Responsible for monitoring and documenting the progress of orientation and training.
· Provides informal daily constructive feedback to all staff.
· Provides formal feedback and goal setting as part of written evaluations and conferences.
· Re-evaluates staff progress toward goals during the course of the year, providing staff with recommendations for development.
· Develops and maintains efficient tech support staff schedules; develops specific tech job requirements and core competencies and expectations, and matches skills with needs, in collaboration with the medical director and HR Business Partner.
· Hires staff from HR approved job description and takes an active role in the recruitment process in collaboration with assigned Talent Acquisition Recruiter.
· Supervises tech and support staff, including responsibility for coaching and corrective action.
· Develops staff clinical performance standards in consultation with Medical director.
· Performs regular annual performance appraisal.
· Addresses tech and support staff behavior as issues arise with assistance from HR.
· Coordinates tech and support staff training and CME for core competencies and performance.
Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the quality of services provided by accountable areas in collaboration with the medical directors and shared modality imaging managers.
· Ensure compliance with external regulatory agencies
· Knowledgeable about JCAHO, Department of Health and licensure requirements.
· Demonstrates knowledge of applicable union contracts.
· Develops and implements plan to improve patient or family experience, including regular surveys; coordinates patient and physician complaint responses
· Liaison with IS and system service line for maintenance of clinical databases and reporting tools.

· Actively participates in process improvement and ensures Tech CME up-to-date.
· Oversees development of tech competencies and monitoring of tech quality Maintains compliance with JCAHO and other regulators in collaboration with medical director and Human Resources.
Responsible for reliable and safe operation of equipment.
· Assures daily monitoring of equipment in department to determine functional ability and takes appropriate corrective action when needed.
· Monitors compliance of all JCAHO or other regulations of department’s equipment.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Technical degree in an Imaging or Cardiovascular field
- 2 years management experience.
- 2 years working in at least one of the following cardiovascular modalities, echo, CT, MR, nuclear or cath lab
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN or Bachelors in Business Related Field
- Experience working in 2 or more cardiovascular imaging modalities one of which is CT or MR.
- 3 or more years management experience.
- Current RRT or RDCS certification
