Fairview Health Services is hiring a Release of Information - Health Information Management Representative II for our University West Bank Campus ROI office! This is a remote position.
This position is responsible for HIM functions supporting the completeness, integrity, and privacy of medical record documentation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Responsibilities focus on processing written and verbal release of information requests in compliance with Fairview policy; federal, state, and other regulatory requirements. Timely and accurate processing of all work is essential.
Schedule: This position will be working 1.0 FTE (80 hours every two weeks). The schedule will be Tuesday-Saturday with hours Tuesday-Friday 9:30pm-6pm and Saturday shift being 7am-3:30pm.

Responsibilities Job Description
- Answers patient, provider, and third-party phone calls daily, providing exceptional customer service, accurate information, and consistent follow through.
- Processes verbal requests for records needed for urgent patient care daily.
- Processes written release of information (ROI) continuing care and patient requests daily including but not limited to requests submitted through email, MyChart, and activities related to electronic exchange of health information.
- Assists external care providers to electronically access Fairview health records for urgent patient care as needed.
- Retrieves and distributes paper, microfilm, and microfiche patient health records to support patient care, and re-file records and other documents as needed.
- Completes special projects as needed.
- Understands and adheres to Revenue Cycle’s Escalation Policy.
- Contributes to the process of or enablement of collecting expected payment by ensuring health records are available in a timely manner and contains the required elements for downstream Revenue Cycle workflows and to meet regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in health information management or related field. Two (2) years of experience in an applicable health information management department may substitute for an associate degree.
- Two years in Health Information Management, medical office, or comparable work experience or education.
- Working knowledge of EHR systems.
