The Staff RN is a registered, professional nurse who is responsible for providing individualized nursing care for a specific group of patients. The staff RN has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of the patient population served. The nurse coordinates care in collaboration with the patient, family, nurses, peers, physicians and allied health care providers. Assumes responsibility for the outcome of nursing care delivered.
Experience
- Previous experience preferred.
Education
- Associate's degree in nursing required, BSN preferred.
License & Certifications
- RN License - Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts
Additional Requirements
Ability to function independently under general guidance of the Director and follows the guidelines and protocols and/or policies and protocols specific to each unit. Duties require independent action and judgment. Utilizes time management, communication, planning, delegating, and problem solving in providing care. Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Must maintain emotional stability in emergency settings.
Additional Requirements
- Previous Medical/Surgical and Telemetry experience preferred.
- CPR
- ACLS required within one year.
- IV Qualifications required.
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
- PEARS - Pediatric Emergency Assessment and Stabilization required within one year of hire.
This is a bargaining unit position.
May float to Surgical Day Care as needed
