Job Description :
The Senior Applications Analyst – Oracle EBS, will have ownership of multiple modules in Oracle Applications and related applications, and will be responsible for maintaining and supporting them. This position will be responsible for modules within Oracle Manufacturing, specifically in WIP, BOM, MRP,OPM, Item master, Inventory, Purchasing and related modules. There will be interaction with business users to understand issues, gather requirements, coordinate testing and implement solutions.
Support of the applications would include resolving issues reported by users. Resolution process will include, but not limited to, investigating known bugs on software vendor support website, creating tickets or service requests with software vendor, working with technical team, testing fixes and coordinating changes to production.
This position will work on development requests and projects. This position will have responsibility for significant software development tasks. This will involve scheduling tasks, managing user expectations,meeting project and key initiative deadlines. Tasks will include, but not limited to, interacting with business users to gather requirements, designing technical solutions, unit testing programs, user testing,documentation and implementation. Requests involve development of reports, alerts, workflows, interfaces and data conversion programs
The position also requires staying abreast with changes in technology, changes and upgrades to Oracle Applications.
Participation in team and / or project meetings, to schedule work and discuss status, will be required. Interaction with others in the Oracle Application team or another team will also be required.
Project Leadership and Management - 50%
1. Partners with project or I&T manager in executing and delivering according to the project plan
2. Acts as a liaison between business teams and development teams.
3. Serves as business analyst and project lead for the area of responsibility.
4. Works with business partners to understand and document requirements and gaps in application functionality
5. Manages system change request process
6. Provides daily and weekly status reports to management
7. Coordinates with technical teams for development and delivery of software objects
8. Provides input to cut over or migration plan
9. Establishes standard work and ensures adherence to best practices
10. When working on an FDA validated system, adheres to software validation requirements.
Design, Develop and Configure Systems – 25%
1. Participates in discovery meetings and site visits
2. Schedules and conducts design sessions for area of responsibility
3. Documents user requirements
4. Prepares functional design documents
5. Prepares configuration documentation
6. Works on data conversion requirements and develops standard templates
7. Works with boundary application owners to design and develop interfaces
8. Prepares and performs data reconciliation and validation
9. Configures software application environments for mock, integration, user acceptance testing and production
10. Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware solutions
11. Performs testing and evaluation, including proof of concepts and demos of new functionality
12. Interfaces with software vendors to facilitate the purchase of services, software and hardware
13. Works with software vendor support teams to research and resolve issues
14. Works with DBA and SA teams to implement changes and fixes in all environments
15. Works on System Change Requests (SCRs)
16. Works on Footprints Tickets and Requests.
Technical Support, System Administration and Maintenance - 25%
1. Maintain standardization and documentation of technology and processes.
2. Develops and implements training plans to support applications as required.
3. Provide technical support and maintenance of I.T. systems.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve problems with system configurations and hardware.
5. Provide escalation support for System Administrators.
Experience Requirements
1. 7 years experience in Oracle Applications manufacturing modules
2. 7 years experience in Oracle Applications environment – Application Object Library
3. 5 years experience in interfaces with other applications using flat file transfers or database links. Experience in the use of Middleware will be preferred.
4. 7 years experience in full life cycle implementation of Oracle Applications or upgrades
5. 7 years experience in designing and developing custom applications in the Oracle Applications environment
6 4 -year degree in Information Technology or equivalent vocational field is required.
