The Superintendent of Schools announces the following positions to support students in the Extended School Year (ESY) program this summer.
Special Education Social Worker/SAC
Extended School Year Program
DATES: 7/07/2025-8/01/2025
HOURS: 8:30 am to 12:30 pm = 4 hours per day
4 days per week Monday thru Thursday
TITLE: ESY Special Education Social Worker/SAC
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in social work or counseling (MSW preferred)
- Significant clinical experience with school-aged children
- Certified or certifiable as a School Adjustment Counselor by the Division of Youth Services
- Experience in individual, group & family counseling
- Prefer minimum of three years experience in a school and/or social service setting
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of all laws and school policies which govern student services
REPORTS TO: Site Coordinator/Program Director
SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Including but not limited to:
- Provide counseling to students in need, utilizing a variety of counseling modalities such as individual, group and family therapy as needed
- Assist the Site Coordinator/Program Director in all matters which pertain to student services, including the keeping of appropriate student records and the generation of any and all pertinent reports
- Serve as the prime liaison between the school, the family, and the community
- Responsible for primary intervention in such areas as: Child abuse, teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, potential suicide, and other psychiatric emergencies and/or critical incidents which occur in the school yard
- Provide coordination and referral services to social service agencies as needed
- Adhere to ESY requirements

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly rate in accordance with FRPS Administrators Association Contract
