Qualifications :
- Minimum of Master's degree, representing intensive course work and practical experience in social work, clinical psychology, counseling, child development, education and group processes.
- Licensed as a School Adjustment Counselor.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Such other alternatives as the Director of Student Services may deem acceptable and appropriate.
Responsibilities :
Work in concert with special education teachers, related services providers, teaching assistants, specialists, and administrative personnel to implement viable extended year direct and consultative counseling services for special education students in accordance with their IEPs.Suggest and / or provide coping tools necessary to optimize emotional and behavioral regulation and independence during activities.Crisis intervention, and engagement with community agencies as needed.Complete progress reports, behavior support plans, communication logs, data sheets, and other data as required by local, state, and federal guidelines.Participate in staff meetings as needed, providing updates and advice to the team, including parents and guardians.Work collaboratively with the ESY Coordinator and colleagues to provide effective student support.Such other responsibilities may from time to time be assigned by the Director of Student Services and the Extended School Year Coordinator.Salary : In accordance with FEA contract
