The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst (FP&A Analyst) assists with budgeting, analysis, and the development of financial forecasting tools to support operational, strategic, and financial decision-making across the organization.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans for individual departments/business units and consolidating into one master forecast.
- Track revenue and operating results by departments and expenses by cost centers
- Develop and maintain financial models for various business units and projects.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information for financial analysis.
- Support the monthly financial reporting process, including variance analysis and management reporting.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as needed to support decision-making, tailored to the needs of leadership.
- Assist in the evaluation of new and existing projects, investments, and assets to determine their validity and appraise their value.
- Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting, investment banking, or a similar role.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications, knowledge of Financial Edge NXT a plus.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Excel at complex math and number crunching
- Strong background in accounting principles, and knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles recommended
- Proficient in financial modeling
- Strong analytical skills
- Expert in utilizing spreadsheets, and skills or familiarity with statistical analysis
- Ability to compile and communicate information effectively in oral and written form
- Strong understanding of nonprofit social service organizations
- Ability to document workflows and processes.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members at all levels of the organization
