About the Role:
The Medical Records Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of patient records at Fanno Creek Clinic. This position is responsible for ensuring that all medical records are accurately filed, updated, and accessible to authorized personnel while adhering to HIPAA privacy and security regulations. The clerk will also assist in the migration of data to electronic medical records (EMR) systems, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal disruption to patient care. Additionally, the role involves scheduling clinical chart reviews. The Medical Records Clerk contributes to the overall efficiency of healthcare operations and supports the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of HIPAA privacy and security rules.
- Experience with EMR software and document scanning technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in health information management or a related field.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in medical records management.
- Familiarity with Adobe PDF and data migration processes.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain patient medical records in both electronic and paper formats.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding the privacy and security of patient information.
- Assist in the data migration process to EMR systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
- Coordinate scheduling of clinical chart reviews.
- Utilize document scanning and filing techniques to streamline record-keeping processes.
