COMPENSATION: $43,465.00 to $70,576.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
About Our Opportunity
Provides accounting services and support to internal and external customers primarily in the areas of Accounts Payable. The person in this position maintains effective accounting controls, acquires, develops and maintains expertise in Association systems, policies and procedures; monitor for fraud prevention and compliance by analyzing reports and reconcilements; participate on departmental or association project teams; identify and escalate accounting issues to the Controller when necessary. Organizes and prioritizes work to meet processing deadlines.
How You Will Spend Your Time
Accounts Payable: Complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling association invoices and employee expenses; quality check processed work by verifying entries, verify appropriate approval/spend amounts to authorization, ledger accounts, costs centers and comparing system reports to balances; monitor discount opportunities; schedule and prepare checks; resolve invoice or payment discrepancies and documentation; administer corporate card program through issuance, limit changes, cancellation and monitoring for potential fraudulent transactions.
Tax Accounting Support: Provide support through W-9 collections and maintaining IRS reportable transaction database to include cash reporting.
Minimum Education & Experience
Associate's Degree in accounting, finance or a related field is required (Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or a related field is preferred) and at least two years of experience in accounting, banking or financially related customer support while using a variety of business software, demonstrating proficiency in Word and Excel.
