Underwriting Technician

Based in Hunterdon County, Farmers Insurance Company of Flemington is a Mutual Insurer writing personal and commercial property & casualty business for the New Jersey market.

Currently, our Underwriting team is looking for a friendly, collaborative, and detail-oriented individual to join us as an Underwriting Technician. This individual will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support to our Underwriting team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support to underwriters and independent agents.
• Review renewals and complete appropriate file documentation.
• Review and process endorsements and cancellations.
• Order loss control inspections, property valuations and loss reports.
• Rating new business and renewals.
• Assist in other department functions including ordering and processing of premium audits, maintaining new application log, policy assembly, following up on correspondence, answering telephones and other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• Excellent communication and technical skills.
• Good analytical skills for problem solving.
• Attention to detail and accuracy are essential for this role.
• Proficient use of a computer (MS Word/Excel). ImageRight experience a plus.
• Positive, upbeat personality and desire to be part of a team.
• Must be dependable and able to work both independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
• Excellent decision, organization, planning and multi-tasking skills.
• 2 years’ experience desired. (Multi-line a plus)

Education:

• High School Diploma (College a plus).
• Industry courses also a plus.

The listed pay range for this position is approximate and dependent on your background and experience. We review all introductory employees at six months for progress and potential salary increases.

This is not a remote position since certain duties require physical presence to perform. Occasional remote work may be permitted on a case-by-case basis.
