Job Description: Farmers Insurance in Newington, CT is currently hiring part-time customer service representative to service insurance policies and provide professional customer service. The ideal candidate for this position should be looking to start and build a career in insurance and financial services, must have a pleasant and likeable attitude, be outgoing and sociable, and have a strong work-ethic with a “take-charge” attitude. Individual will directly contribute to and support sales goals for the agency or specialist department as communicated from the agent to meet long-term and short-term goals for agency growth. This includes new business, cross-sell opportunities, customer-service, retention and profit goals. Essential Job Functions: Duties including but not limited to:
- Coordinates with the agent and/or operations manager to provide assistance in determining proper coverage.
- Billing.
- Accurately take customer message and follow-up.
- Setup appointment, explain product and services, insurance policy due date reminders, appointment reminders, and payment reminders.
- Use computer to document customer details, update credit card information, payment details.
- Proficiency to multi-task, follow-thru and follow-up.
- Professional phone etiquette.
- Maintains knowledge of new products and initiatives. Pursues a program for development of personal and business skills.
- Actively solicits expiration dates from new clients and prospects.
- Develops agency relationship with existing clients.
- Meets the production requirements and goals assigned by the agent or agency manager.
- Ability to make decisions in accordance with established practices and procedures.
- Maintenance of client relationship.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Work well with other employees and is a team player with a positive attitude.

Preferred Skills and Abilities: High school education. Previous customer service experience highly preferred. Compensation: Hourly wage. Compensation will depend on prior experience. Group benefits program available for agency employees.
