What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deposit Maintenance Specialist position at Farmers State Bank?
POSITION SUMMARY: Process all deposit account maintenance for open and closed accounts. Verify new deposit accounts uploaded to core system for accuracy and compliance and performs maintenance procedures to closed accounts. Performs role in a positive and helpful manner to ensure an exceptional customer experience at all times for internal and external customers.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ACCOUNTABILITY 1:
Process source documents electronically. Identify/interpret and verify for accuracy the data to be entered. Collaborate with front-line staff to resolve questions, inconsistencies or missing data. Enter the data into system and transmit the information into the database. Respond to inquiries regarding entered data. Re-index and archive after entry.
ACCOUNTABILITY 2:
Proof/verify accuracy of work. Compare data entered with source documents to detect errors and/or to correct data entry uploaded to core system. Review prior day maintenance reports and makes corrections as appropriate. Track and monitor received data and source documents.
ACCOUNTABILITY 3:
Verify source documents and entry by co-workers for all identified items per procedures.
ACCOUNTABILITY 4:
Ensure adherence to all applicable compliance and regulatory requirements as well as bank procedures. Inform/train appropriate staff on procedures and documents relative to the deposit documentation function.
ACCOUNTABILITY 5:
Document departmental operating procedures and assist in the implementation and ongoing usage of procedures. Identify inconsistencies with core and recommend changes.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years banking and/or banking operations experience preferred
- Proficient computer skills to include Word and Excel
- Accurate with a strong attention to detail
- Courteous and professional
- Effective problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities in a deadline oriented environment
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
